Then & Now: Maple Cottage- The Locomobile Headquarters for the 1905 and 1906 Vanderbilt Cup Races
Racing teams for the Vanderbilt Cup Races typically had local headquarters to store and work on their racers and also provide lodging. In 1905 and 1906, the Locomobile team from nearby Bridgeport, Connecticut set up their headquarters at Maple Cottage, a farmhouse and inn located in Lakeville (now Lake Success).

Then & Now: William K. Vanderbilt Jr’s Deepdale Gate Lodge in Lake Success
In 1906, William K. Vanderbilt Jr. commissioned architect John Russell Pope to design a gate lodge for his Deepdale Estate located in Lake Success, New York. Fortunately, the gate lodge is still standing and provides the opportunity for this "Then & Now".

Long Island Motor Parkway Bridge Series:#15 The Smith Farmway Bridge in Lake Success(Update: 4/1/20)
Going west to east, the third Nassau County bridge built by the Long Island Motor Parkway was a farmway bridge connecting the Richard W. Smith property in Lakeville later renamed Lake Success.
